ASC, which stands for Activism for Social Change, is a discussion and, most importantly, actvism group founded by students. Change is within everyone's grasp! If we work together we can achieve social refom. ASC relies on the extreme power of cooperation, using it to organize volunteering, promote demonstrations, and achieve change through creative civil disobediance.

Yesterday's March On Washington

You may have read about yesterday's protest in the paper, but it couldn't have been the same protest we attended. It was a small crowd because there was very poorly anounced. However the people that did attend managed to cut off Constitution Ave, 3rd St and Pennsylvania Ave. Once we cut off Penn we set up tents and ordered pizzas. It was really intense although it was not as strong as it should have been. If we're going to organize these protests we have to organize them with more time to make sure that everyone will come and that we can all work together.

Updates And Layouts

The site has been changing a lot recently, including the layout so it's been sort of confusing. We're making the site as friendly as possible and it's going to be really cool, so hold on while we finish coding the rest of the site. We'll put up notices when it's "fully" functional so that everyone can help us de-bug.

Yes! We've been talking about doing this for a while but never really got around to dong it. It took a bit of work, but now we'll be able to post information about upcomming events, pictures, and keep all members up to date on meetings.

Who's Streets? OUR STREETS!

Thanks to everyone who went to the protest and marched through the streets. It's so great to see so many people walking together, singing together, and ultimately working together. Thanks to everyone who got arrested to get a point accross, you guys are the reason the protest made the paper. I read the article in the Post about the protest, alhtough it seemed to be more of an article about the counter-protest since that's where most of the emphasis of the article was placed. Still, the atmosphere was incredible. We met people that drove all the way from Ohio just to come to the protest, and to think that some people within the city didn't come. I enjoyed it immensely and I hope this damn war comes to an end, otherwise I gladly continue to protest it.
